SCIENCE / READ THE REASONING
Train with curiosity.
Keep the context.
Research can sharpen a training question. A useful explanation shows the principle, the source and where its application stops.
Open a question to read the canonical training explanation and its qualification. General resistance-training findings are not a clinical outcome claim or a trial of this app.
How much weekly work should I do?
Weekly sets are a useful dose description, not a score to maximize. Average growth can increase across studied volume ranges, with diminishing returns and varied responses. Those averages do not identify your personal ceiling. Review performance, completed work and tolerance before considering a change. A larger total alone is not proof of better training.
Evidence limit: Mostly young adults and men in newer models. No personal optimal dose or diagnosis follows from a heatmap.

Does every set need to reach failure?
Every set does not have to end in failure. Research comparisons vary, and a small trained-participant trial found similar quadriceps growth with failure and perceived 1–2 reps in reserve. That is not proof that any easy set works equally well. Track effort as an estimate and review performance.
Evidence limit: Definitions and protocols vary. Estimated effort and one lower-limb trial cannot establish universal equivalence or your personal best load or rep range.

Should I add reps, load—or hold?
Progression can involve reps as well as load. One short trial in trained adults studied both approaches; it did not test an app algorithm. Compare like with like, including exercise and recorded effort. In Hypertrophy, a suggestion is a next step to review, not proof that adding weight today is always right.
Evidence limit: Short adult trials and mixed autoregulation methods do not validate this algorithm or prove superior growth.

Holding a target can be a reasonable product decision when comparable evidence is missing or mixed. Progression research supports more than one approach; it does not validate every hold threshold. Open Why? to inspect the displayed guidance and records. You can distinguish the general principle from the app rule before choosing your next step.
Evidence limit: Short adult trials and mixed autoregulation methods do not validate this algorithm or prove superior growth.
How long should I rest?
A timer helps you organize rest. It does not measure the instant your muscle is ready. A small review is compatible with modest benefits from longer rests in some comparisons, with substantial uncertainty. Review your next-set performance and adjust the planned duration when appropriate. The exact countdown is an app setting.
Evidence limit: Few heterogeneous adult studies; no exact personal rest duration has been established.
How does research become an app suggestion?
Published findings inform general principles. Defined product rules turn available records and constraints into supported suggestions. Inspect both: a citation does not validate an exact software threshold or establish your personal optimum.
